Therefore, as a final act of judgment from the Holy God of Israel, the prophet Ezekiel spoke the following powerful words of condemnation and punishment, foretold to come from the hands of the brutal pagan leader and King of Babylon, King Nebuchadnezzar -- the designated destroyer of Solomon's magnificent Temple. He said:
"And as for you, O son of man, sigh with shaking hips. Even with bitterness you should sigh before their eyes. Regarding the so-called Anointed Selection Cut-Off Date Of 1935 taught by the Watchtower Society for the selection of the anointed going to Heaven in years past, I think it fair to say today, Jehovah's Witnesses are NOT encouraged to display any, any real "thinking ability" (Proverbs 1:4 NWT) among themselves, even though the Watchtower Society's publications do to some degree, pay nominal "lip service" to the idea.
I'll give you an example of what I mean.
Ask yourself:
1) Did Jehovah's Witnesses the world over, accept and teach the date of 1935 for many, many years, as a valid, scriptural "cut-off" date for the "anointed" being selected by Jehovah? Think about it.
I think we all know, the obvious answer to the above question is a resounding, "YES!"
So, in this rebellious way, they openly challenged the Authority of Jehovah and Jesus Christ's God-given Authority over the Christian Congregation, thus trampling on John 3:8 before everyone at the kingdom halls world wide, with no remorse or shame at all. They acted just like we would expect of someone who made himself a "god" in God's Temple over His people, like the "Man of Lawlessness." -- 2 Thessalonians 2:3, 4

2) Now ask yourself another pertinent, keenly relevant question: Were Jehovah's Witnesses the world over, in many cases and in many congregations, even indignant (in some cases outright enraged) toward any new ones, recently baptized ones, that claimed to be a selection of Jehovah, anyone claiming to being recently "anointed" by Jehovah God, so far after the so-called "cut-off" date of 1935? Did you personally eye-witness this situation?
Perhaps you did. I know I did.
3) Again, ask yourself, what date was "Gilead" first opened, (IN 1943) to train missionaries to go overseas to "distant" lands spreading the message? (Acts 1:8) Now, please keep that date in mind, 1943.
4) Were not Jehovah's Witnesses the world over, all aware of the unique purpose of the "Gilead" School, which supposedly was to help accelerate the preaching work of Jehovah's Witnesses around the world, helping them spread the "good news" in faraway places overseas, even to the "most distant parts of the earth"? Were Jehovah's Witnesses all aware of this fact? (See Acts 1:8.)
5) And if that is so, what bearing would Revelation 5:9, 10 have on accomplishing that commission, especially toward locating "anointed" ones from these "distant" lands, who had never, ever heard the message before?
6) Given these circumstances, would it be possible, even probable for newly selected "anointed" ones, to come out (as "first-fruits") of the labors the preaching work of "Gilead" graduates, based upon what the verses plainly said at Revelation 5:9, 10?
7) Therefore given these facts, how could the date of 1935, in any way shape or form be considered a valid "cut-off" date, for the selection of the "anointed" who live in distant lands (Acts 1:8), in harmony with God's Expressed Will shown in Revelation 5:9, 10, with the heavenly "anointed" class, supposedly coming from all languages & peoples?
Now ask yourself:
... Can we say, Jehovah's Witnesses really possess, real "thinking ability" as the bible recommends? (Proverbs 1:4)
Remember, Jehovah's Witnesses for many, many years taught the "cut-off" date for the selection of the "anointed" was the year of 1935 ... several years BEFORE the school of "Gilead" was ever opened, in 1943.
There can be no doubt, without possessing real "thinking ability," Jehovah's Witnesses are easy prey for their great adversary, Satan the Devil, and his chief tool, the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses. (See 2 Thessalonians 2:3, 4; 1 Peter 5:8.)
Let's take a closer look at this situation.
A MAJOR PREDICAMENT FACING ALL JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES
Revelation 12:11 provides vital encouragement for all truth-seekers by saying:
"And they conquered him [Satan] because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their witnessing, and they did not love their souls even in the face of death."
This is no trivial matter to all faithful servants of God of our day, since we have the Divine Warning to:
"keep your senses, be watchful. Your adversary, the Devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking to devour [someone]." -- 1 Peter 5:8
So, we can ask: How can one today, who is a lover of Divine Truth and a genuine truth-seeker, fully "conquer" Satan the Devil, the Evil One, who is upon earth seeking to "devour" all spiritual-minded ones like a "roaring lion"? Yes, how can we "conquer" the primary one, who is indeed intent on CONQUERING US?
THE FIRST CENTURY "CASTING OUT" AND "CONQUERING" OF SATAN
Thinking back, when John was given the Revelation for the future, we read at Revelation 12:9 something very interesting. It states:
"So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him."
Now, after reading that particular verse, let's notice a very important clue has been Divinely provided for us, to help us tremendously in our modern-day quest to fully "conquer" Satan.
We remember John was shown a vision of Satan being "cast out" of heaven...right? He saw Satan being "hurled down" out of heaven..."cast out" of heaven...right? Truly a powerful future event for John to envision.
Now let's ask ourselves: From John's perspective, had this ever happened before, namely the "casting out" or "hurling down" of Satan, say during John's day, during Jesus' ministry?
Well, to answer that question, let's meditate upon some background information that John obviously had to draw on from his many experiences with Jesus. In fact, one particular occasion.
Remember, when the 70 disciples of Jesus were FINALLY learning the real truth, straight from the mouth of Jesus, and not the half-truths and falsehoods of the Pharisees of their day, what did Jesus actually say about this unique situation? In other words, how did Jesus actually describe this situation, that is their learning Godly Truths during his time?
"Then the seventy returned with joy, saying: Lord even the demons are made subject to us by the use of your name. At that he said to them: I began to behold SATAN ALREADY FALLEN LIKE LIGHTNING FROM HEAVEN...I publicly praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have carefully hidden these things from wise and intellectual ones, and have revealed them to babes. Yes, O Father because to do thus came to be the way approved by you." -- Luke 10:17-21
Jesus said above, Satan was already, yes 'already fallen from heaven,' as a direct result of his "revealing" sacred secrets to his babe-like disciples. Did you notice that?
Again, Jesus said Satan had
"...ALREADY FALLEN FROM HEAVEN,"
...isn't that true?
Now, what does this mean?
Let's truly think...ponder the true significance of this thought a bit. -- 1 Timothy 4:15
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Indeed, there can be no question but that, this is indeed a powerful statement of success on behalf of Jesus' own ministry namely, in fully revealing "sacred secrets" to first century disciples upon earth...no doubt!
Therefore, we must ask: Could these verses above possibly help us better understand, the future "hurling down" action taken against Satan the Devil, in our day, we ask?
Well, could the fact that Jesus was "revealing" to his humble "babe" like disciples, previously "carefully hidden things", carefully guarded things, prove to be a great defeat for Satan, like his "falling as lightning from heaven?" (Luke 10:18) Yes, could the dramatic "revealing" of real spiritual things, like "sacred secrets" of God, real spiritual gems, things that had formerly been "hidden from the wise and intellectual" religious leaders of Jesus' day, be considered a serious SPIRITUAL "fall from heaven" for Satan? ... A spiritual "fall" itself. What do you think?
In other words, since the book of Revelation is to be correctly understood as presenting ideas in "signs," where ideas are being conveyed SYMBOLICALLY to us, and not literally...not literally -- then yes, is it possible that the "hurling down" action of Satan and his demons, is to be understood...IN A SYMBOLIC SENSE, and not in a literal sense as people commonly think today? Isn't it true, people today (including the Watchtower Society and Jehovah's witnesses) generally see this as a literal "fall" from heaven, and not a spiritual one? A spiritual "fall" from heaven, just as Jesus described happened for his first century followers when they first learned "Sacred Secrets" from God, as recorded in Luke 10:18? Isn't that true?
In other words, do you think the book of Revelation, a book that presents ideas in "signs," yes is that particular book of the bible depicting Satan being "hurled down" LITERALLY or SYMBOLICALLY...which? What do you think? -- See Revelation 1:1.
Also we may want to consider this fact. Did you notice Revelation 12:9 mentions a direct connection between the "hurling down to earth" action taken against Satan, and the inspired account reminding us he [Satan] was PRIOR TO this action, actually "misleading the entire inhabited earth?" Did you notice that fact?
Indeed, in considering Revelation 12:9, could there be a connection between the mention of Satan "misleading the entire earth," and the fact that some very fortunate individuals have been freed from his dreadful influence finally, namely the "Male Child" who have been "caught up" to symbolic "heaven?" Could this also be true? (Revelation 12:5) And further, could the symbolic "hurling down" action taken against Satan, yes one day, possibly change that dreadful situation for the "inhabited earth" who are being "misled" by Satan? Is that possible too?
Indeed, we could ask ourselves, what might the symbolic "hurling down" action taken against Satan, mean for "the entire inhabited earth" in whom Satan's misleds? Could there possibly be a direct connection here, between this powerful action on God's part, and the "righteous" result for the "inhabited earth," who was previously under Satan's power and control up till that time?
Again, let's review this situation again, in our minds...the "casting out" of Satan from "heaven." We can ask ourselves, what did Jesus mean when he said the following to his disciples in the first century:
"Now there is a judging of this world; now THE RULER OF THIS WORLD [SATAN] WILL BE CAST OUT."-- John 12:31
Now, let's think deeply about this statement. Ask yourself, in what sense are we to understand the fact that Satan, was indeed "cast out" of that particular first century "world" [Greek: kosmos], as a direct result of Jesus' preaching ministry of Divine Truth? How could this be, and why would Jesus describe this situation as a "casting out" of Satan, for his first century followers? What do you think?
In referring to the "casting out" of Satan in John 12:31, could Jesus have been describing a SPIRITUAL FALL of Satan, where first century christians could now be said to be full-scale "conquers" of Satan, because of learning Divine Truth or "Sacred Secrets" from God...is this possible? -- See Matthew 13:11; Luke 10:17-21; 1 John 2:13.

Isn't it true, right after mentioning the "hurling down" of Satan action in Revelation 12:9, verse 11 of the same chapter says:
"...And they conquered him [Satan]..." -- Revelation 12:11
Therefore, could the "conquering" of Satan by faithful ones, be logically connected in our minds, to the "hurling down" action taken against Satan, in our modern-day, just as it occurred in the first century when Jesus was on earth? Could this be the case, we ask?
Remember, John wrote to his faithful brothers of the first century,
"I am writing you, fathers, because you have come to know him who is from the beginning. I am writing you, young men, because YOU HAVE CONQUERED THE WICKED ONE [SATAN]..." -- 1 John 2:13
Yes, first century christians had, with the help of Jesus, indeed "conquered" the Wicked One [Satan], who up till that time, had the whole world "lying in his power." -- 1 John 5:19
Perhaps, after prayerfully considering the above information, we can possibly see this future "hurling down to earth" action taken against Satan in our day, in a completely different light. Yes, we can begin to see this "hurling down" of Satan, as being a SYMBOLIC "hurling down" action. Think about it.
Indeed, when we examine these particular spiritual thoughts at this juncture, could this viewpoint possibly "open some doors" of thought, in our understanding and highlighting the particular spiritual [and not literal] aspect of the book of Revelation and how God intended for us to perceive such, in our day.
"FINDING" AND "RETAINING" DIVINE TRUTHS AS A PERMANENT POSSESSION
To be sure, Satan is doing everything in his power to "conquer" us all, just like a "roaring lion" would do when seeking prey. Therefore the only thing that can truly save us from such a fate, is the pursuit of Divine Truth, real truth from Almighty God. We must seek for it, as for gold and for silver, search for it as we would for "hidden treasure," the bible tells us. We must seek to understand God's Word, by constantly "knocking" for more understanding. -- Proverbs 2:3-6; 4:5-7; Matthew 7:7, 8
So, no doubt the primary way one can fully "conquer" Satan, is by searching out spiritual "truths", Divine Truths that formerly may have been long "hidden" from mankind in general, since the time of Jesus. Things Jesus called in many of his parables, the "Sacred Secrets of the Kingdom." -- Matthew 13:11; Romans 16:25-27
As many of Jehovah's Witnesses are beginning to find out, these Divine Truths we speak of, are actually teachings and "understandings" that apparently Jehovah and Jesus have "long hidden" not only from the world of mankind in general, but even from the Watctower Society and company too. Yes, with the passage of time, time has shown, the Watchtower Society still DOES NOT understand today these Sacred Truths, and bible prophecy.
But even so, that does not mean the true understanding of these spiritual "truths" can not be had by all who "call upon the Lord out of a clean heart," as "Israel" today. (2 Timothy 2:22) To be sure, all Jehovah's Witnesses of our time, who truly wish to know and are willing to search for these Divine Truths, can indeed find them and "conquer" Satan.
Jesus said,
"Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction and many are the ones going in through it; whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it." -- Mathew 7:13, 14
Yes, "few are the ones FINDING IT." And we know, in order for one to "find" something, yes they must be actively LOOKING for it, yes searching for it. Indeed, searching for Divine Truths which they know, leads us to the road "leading off into life."
We remember, Jesus compared our search for Divine Truth to one who was willing to search the world over for the most exquisite treasure of his time. Referring his faithful followers to their real quest of searching out Godly "Sacred Secrets" and gaining possession of "true understanding" of such, Jesus said:
"The kingdom of the heavens is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid; and for the joy he has he goes and sells what things he has and buys that field. Again The kingdom of the heavens is like a traveling merchant seeking fine pearls. Upon finding one pearl of high value, away he went and promptly sold all the things he had and bought it." -- Matthew 13:44, 45
Today, we must feel the same way about "finding" real "hidden treasure" from God, as this "man" above was. He was willing to "sell" everything he had, to first of all...yes, "buy this field" which contained the "hidden treasure." He had to purchase first...the entire field itself. Therefore, Jesus recommended that we must be actively "seeking fine pearls" from God, as would be a "traveling merchant." So when finding such after much labor and effort, next we must be willing to sell "all the things" we have to buy it and, yes KEEP IT as our permanent possession! (Proverbs 23:23) No, we do not want to "sell truth" or sacrifice truth for any reason, allowing Satan, "during a time of testing" to possibly "overreach" us and "we fall from our own steadfastness!" To be sure, first century christians were constantly warned of this possibility, after they had learned "sacred secrets" from Jehovah. Think about it. -- Luke 8:13; 1 Corinthians 10:12; 2 Corinthians 2:11; 2 Peter 3:17
In other words, we must "highly esteem" this sacred "knowledge", the "sacred secrets of the kingdom," viewing it as precious, and finally be willing to make whatever sacrifice we can to make this "hidden treasure" our sole personal possession and yes, "retain it" permanently, as Jesus recommended. In this way, we can fully and completely "conquer" Satan. -- Proverbs 4:8; Luke 8:15
So, we must remember in "conquering" Satan, we have to be willing and prepared to "buy truth itself" and next, we should make it our sole permanent possession. Which means, we certainly do not want to "sell it" ... sacrifice it, no, not for any reason as Satan would want. (Proverbs 23:23) Jesus said we must always..."retain it", that is the "sacred secrets" given us by God. -- See Luke 8:15.
This is especially why Jesus instructed his disciples,
"and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." -- John 8:32
Yes... "set you free..." yes, from a Jewish "world" [Greek: kosmos] that was completely controlled by Satan. Indeed, that is true. But also this Divine Truth "sets us free" ... free from demonic control of an ungodly "world" that we live in today. Yes, a global worldwide system where Satan is actually Chief "Ruler." Think about it. -- See John 12:31; 1 John 5:19.
Therefore in short, Jesus was saying above,
unless one comes to know and understand the "sacred secrets of the kingdom", and is always willing to keep it as his PERMANENT POSSESSION, no...one CANNOT be said to be "free", actually free from the Demonic Control of Satan the Devil!
Think about it...
Only in this way, can God's faithful servants of today truthfully say, we have indeed "conquered" Satan, the one who is "misleading the entire inhabited earth." -- Revelation 12:9
Therefore, it is imperative that all true servants of God, all Jehovah's Witnesses, all "Israel," come into true possession of real "truth", Divine Truth, the all-important UNDERSTANDING of the "sacred secrets of the kingdom," as taught by Jesus.
And if we are willing to do this, we will be able to say as Jesus did, who fully "conquered" Satan by his ministry of Divine Truth-Giving,
"...the ruler of this world [Satan] is coming, and he has no hold on me." -- John 14:30

Yes, how can we "conquer" the primary one, who is indeed intent on CONQUERING US?
THE FIRST CENTURY "CASTING OUT" AND "CONQUERING" OF SATAN
Thinking back, when John was given the Revelation for the future, we read at Revelation 12:9 something very interesting. It states:
"So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him."
Now, after reading that particular verse, let's notice a very important clue has been Divinely provided for us, to help us tremendously in our modern-day quest to fully "conquer" Satan.
We remember John was shown a vision of Satan being "cast out" of heaven...right? He saw Satan being "hurled down" out of heaven..."cast out" of heaven...right? Truly a powerful future event for John to envision.
Now let's ask ourselves: From John's perspective, had this ever happened before, namely the "casting out" or "hurling down" of Satan, say during John's day, during Jesus' ministry?
Well, to answer that question, let's meditate upon some background information that John obviously had to draw on from his many experiences with Jesus. In fact, one particular occasion.
Remember, when the 70 disciples of Jesus were FINALLY learning the real truth, straight from the mouth of Jesus, and not the half-truths and falsehoods of the Pharisees of their day, what did Jesus actually say about this unique situation? In other words, how did Jesus actually describe this situation, that is their learning Godly Truths during his time?
"Then the seventy returned with joy, saying: Lord even the demons are made subject to us by the use of your name. At that he said to them: I began to behold SATAN ALREADY FALLEN LIKE LIGHTNING FROM HEAVEN...I publicly praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have carefully hidden these things from wise and intellectual ones, and have revealed them to babes. Yes, O Father because to do thus came to be the way approved by you." -- Luke 10:17-21
Jesus said above, Satan was already, yes 'already fallen from heaven,' as a direct result of his "revealing" sacred secrets to his babe-like disciples. Did you notice that?
Again, Jesus said Satan had
"...ALREADY FALLEN FROM HEAVEN,"
...isn't that true?
Now, what does this mean?
Let's truly think...ponder the true significance of this thought a bit. -- 1 Timothy 4:15
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Indeed, there can be no question but that, this is indeed a powerful statement of success on behalf of Jesus' own ministry namely, in fully revealing "sacred secrets" to first century disciples upon earth...no doubt!
Therefore, we must ask: Could these verses above possibly help us better understand, the future "hurling down" action taken against Satan the Devil, in our day, we ask?
Well, could the fact that Jesus was "revealing" to his humble "babe" like disciples, previously "carefully hidden things", carefully guarded things, prove to be a great defeat for Satan, like his "falling as lightning from heaven?" (Luke 10:18) Yes, could the dramatic "revealing" of real spiritual things, like "sacred secrets" of God, real spiritual gems, things that had formerly been "hidden from the wise and intellectual" religious leaders of Jesus' day, be considered a serious SPIRITUAL "fall from heaven" for Satan? ... A spiritual "fall" itself. What do you think?
In other words, since the book of Revelation is to be correctly understood as presenting ideas in "signs," where ideas are being conveyed SYMBOLICALLY to us, and not literally...not literally -- then yes, is it possible that the "hurling down" action of Satan and his demons, is to be understood...IN A SYMBOLIC SENSE, and not in a literal sense as people commonly think today? Isn't it true, people today (including the Watchtower Society and Jehovah's witnesses) generally see this as a literal "fall" from heaven, and not a spiritual one? A spiritual "fall" from heaven, just as Jesus described happened for his first century followers when they first learned "Sacred Secrets" from God, as recorded in Luke 10:18? Isn't that true?
In other words, do you think the book of Revelation, a book that presents ideas in "signs," yes is that particular book of the bible depicting Satan being "hurled down" LITERALLY or SYMBOLICALLY...which? What do you think? -- See Revelation 1:1.
Also we may want to consider this fact. Did you notice Revelation 12:9 mentions a direct connection between the "hurling down to earth" action taken against Satan, and the inspired account reminding us he [Satan] was PRIOR TO this action, actually "misleading the entire inhabited earth?" Did you notice that fact?
Indeed, in considering Revelation 12:9, could there be a connection between the mention of Satan "misleading the entire earth," and the fact that some very fortunate individuals have been freed from his dreadful influence finally, namely the "Male Child" who have been "caught up" to symbolic "heaven?" Could this also be true? (Revelation 12:5) And further, could the symbolic "hurling down" action taken against Satan, yes one day, possibly change that dreadful situation for the "inhabited earth" who are being "misled" by Satan? Is that possible too?
Indeed, we could ask ourselves, what might the symbolic "hurling down" action taken against Satan, mean for "the entire inhabited earth" in whom Satan's misleds? Could there possibly be a direct connection here, between this powerful action on God's part, and the "righteous" result for the "inhabited earth," who was previously under Satan's power and control up till that time?
Again, let's review this situation again, in our minds...the "casting out" of Satan from "heaven." We can ask ourselves, what did Jesus mean when he said the following to his disciples in the first century:
"Now there is a judging of this world; now THE RULER OF THIS WORLD [SATAN] WILL BE CAST OUT."-- John 12:31
Now, let's think deeply about this statement. Ask yourself, in what sense are we to understand the fact that Satan, was indeed "cast out" of that particular first century "world" [Greek: kosmos], as a direct result of Jesus' preaching ministry of Divine Truth? How could this be, and why would Jesus describe this situation as a "casting out" of Satan, for his first century followers? What do you think?
In referring to the "casting out" of Satan in John 12:31, could Jesus have been describing a SPIRITUAL FALL of Satan, where first century christians could now be said to be full-scale "conquers" of Satan, because of learning Divine Truth or "Sacred Secrets" from God...is this possible? -- See Matthew 13:11; Luke 10:17-21; 1 John 2:13.

Isn't it true, right after mentioning the "hurling down" of Satan action in Revelation 12:9, verse 11 of the same chapter says:
"...And they conquered him [Satan]..." -- Revelation 12:11
Therefore, could the "conquering" of Satan by faithful ones, be logically connected in our minds, to the "hurling down" action taken against Satan, in our modern-day, just as it occurred in the first century when Jesus was on earth? Could this be the case, we ask?
Remember, John wrote to his faithful brothers of the first century,
"I am writing you, fathers, because you have come to know him who is from the beginning. I am writing you, young men, because YOU HAVE CONQUERED THE WICKED ONE [SATAN]..." -- 1 John 2:13
Yes, first century christians had, with the help of Jesus, indeed "conquered" the Wicked One [Satan], who up till that time, had the whole world "lying in his power." -- 1 John 5:19
Perhaps, after prayerfully considering the above information, we can possibly see this future "hurling down to earth" action taken against Satan in our day, in a completely different light. Yes, we can begin to see this "hurling down" of Satan, as being a SYMBOLIC "hurling down" action. Think about it.
Indeed, when we examine these particular spiritual thoughts at this juncture, could this viewpoint possibly "open some doors" of thought, in our understanding and highlighting the particular spiritual [and not literal] aspect of the book of Revelation and how God intended for us to perceive such, in our day.
"FINDING" AND "RETAINING" DIVINE TRUTHS AS A PERMANENT POSSESSION
To be sure, Satan is doing everything in his power to "conquer" us all, just like a "roaring lion" would do when seeking prey. Therefore the only thing that can truly save us from such a fate, is the pursuit of Divine Truth, real truth from Almighty God. We must seek for it, as for gold and for silver, search for it as we would for "hidden treasure," the bible tells us. We must seek to understand God's Word, by constantly "knocking" for more understanding. -- Proverbs 2:3-6; 4:5-7; Matthew 7:7, 8
So, no doubt the primary way one can fully "conquer" Satan, is by searching out spiritual "truths", Divine Truths that formerly may have been long "hidden" from mankind in general, since the time of Jesus. Things Jesus called in many of his parables, the "Sacred Secrets of the Kingdom." -- Matthew 13:11; Romans 16:25-27
As many of Jehovah's Witnesses are beginning to find out, these Divine Truths we speak of, are actually teachings and "understandings" that apparently Jehovah and Jesus have "long hidden" not only from the world of mankind in general, but even from the Watctower Society and company too. Yes, with the passage of time, time has shown, the Watchtower Society still DOES NOT understand today these Sacred Truths, and bible prophecy.
But even so, that does not mean the true understanding of these spiritual "truths" can not be had by all who "call upon the Lord out of a clean heart," as "Israel" today. (2 Timothy 2:22) To be sure, all Jehovah's Witnesses of our time, who truly wish to know and are willing to search for these Divine Truths, can indeed find them and "conquer" Satan.
Jesus said,
"Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction and many are the ones going in through it; whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it." -- Mathew 7:13, 14
Yes, "few are the ones FINDING IT." And we know, in order for one to "find" something, yes they must be actively LOOKING for it, yes searching for it. Indeed, searching for Divine Truths which they know, leads us to the road "leading off into life."
We remember, Jesus compared our search for Divine Truth to one who was willing to search the world over for the most exquisite treasure of his time. Referring his faithful followers to their real quest of searching out Godly "Sacred Secrets" and gaining possession of "true understanding" of such, Jesus said:
"The kingdom of the heavens is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid; and for the joy he has he goes and sells what things he has and buys that field. Again The kingdom of the heavens is like a traveling merchant seeking fine pearls. Upon finding one pearl of high value, away he went and promptly sold all the things he had and bought it." -- Matthew 13:44, 45
Today, we must feel the same way about "finding" real "hidden treasure" from God, as this "man" above was. He was willing to "sell" everything he had, to first of all...yes, "buy this field" which contained the "hidden treasure." He had to purchase first...the entire field itself. Therefore, Jesus recommended that we must be actively "seeking fine pearls" from God, as would be a "traveling merchant." So when finding such after much labor and effort, next we must be willing to sell "all the things" we have to buy it and, yes KEEP IT as our permanent possession! (Proverbs 23:23) No, we do not want to "sell truth" or sacrifice truth for any reason, allowing Satan, "during a time of testing" to possibly "overreach" us and "we fall from our own steadfastness!" To be sure, first century christians were constantly warned of this possibility, after they had learned "sacred secrets" from Jehovah. Think about it. -- Luke 8:13; 1 Corinthians 10:12; 2 Corinthians 2:11; 2 Peter 3:17
In other words, we must "highly esteem" this sacred "knowledge", the "sacred secrets of the kingdom," viewing it as precious, and finally be willing to make whatever sacrifice we can to make this "hidden treasure" our sole personal possession and yes, "retain it" permanently, as Jesus recommended. In this way, we can fully and completely "conquer" Satan. -- Proverbs 4:8; Luke 8:15
So, we must remember in "conquering" Satan, we have to be willing and prepared to "buy truth itself" and next, we should make it our sole permanent possession. Which means, we certainly do not want to "sell it" ... sacrifice it, no, not for any reason as Satan would want. (Proverbs 23:23) Jesus said we must always..."retain it", that is the "sacred secrets" given us by God. -- See Luke 8:15.
This is especially why Jesus instructed his disciples,
"and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." -- John 8:32
Yes... "set you free..." yes, from a Jewish "world" [Greek: kosmos] that was completely controlled by Satan. Indeed, that is true. But also this Divine Truth "sets us free" ... free from demonic control of an ungodly "world" that we live in today. Yes, a global worldwide system where Satan is actually Chief "Ruler." Think about it. -- See John 12:31; 1 John 5:19.
Therefore in short, Jesus was saying above,
unless one comes to know and understand the "sacred secrets of the kingdom", and is always willing to keep it as his PERMANENT POSSESSION, no...one CANNOT be said to be "free", actually free from the Demonic Control of Satan the Devil!
Think about it...
Only in this way, can God's faithful servants of today truthfully say, we have indeed "conquered" Satan, the one who is "misleading the entire inhabited earth." -- Revelation 12:9
Therefore, it is imperative that all true servants of God, all Jehovah's Witnesses, all "Israel," come into true possession of real "truth", Divine Truth, the all-important UNDERSTANDING of the "sacred secrets of the kingdom," as taught by Jesus.
And if we are willing to do this, we will be able to say as Jesus did, who fully "conquered" Satan by his ministry of Divine Truth-Giving,
"...the ruler of this world [Satan] is coming, and he has no hold on me." -- John 14:30

Referring to Jesus' all-important sacrificial death, John wrote,
"And he [Jesus] is a propitiatory sacrifice for our sins, yet not for ours only but also for the whole world’s."
Many people today, believe the above verse shows that Jesus actually came to this "world," to die a sacrificial death for the entire "world" of mankind. Is that what you believe, personally? More importantly, could we say this is a proper viewpoint of the inspired words of John, as shown above? Let's consider the following information to answer such thought-provoking questions.
WHY JESUS HAD TO BE BORN AN "ISRAELITE"
It is a well-accepted fact that Jesus as an Israelite was under the Mosaic Law Covenant. As he himself said at Matthew 5:17:
“Do not think I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I came, not to destroy, but to fulfill.”
This Law was an agreement or covenant between Jehovah and the nation of Israel. Why was a ‘fulfillment’ necessary? God concluded a covenant with Abraham that stated that someone from his lineage would become the means by which the nations of mankind could bless themselves. That seed or offspring would then be produced through Abraham’s sons. We all know how this lineage developed. The nation of Israel was now in a position to become a royal nation after having produced the royal "seed." (Exodus 19:5,6) But this was all contingent upon their strictly obeying Jehovah’s word, keeping his covenant with them.
But they were not obedient and so came under guilt. They became lawbreakers. Although the provision of cleansing under the Law Covenant (that is, the blood of bulls and goats) was not intended to cleanse them permanently of sin as it was only a temporary arrangement. Hebrews 9:9 reads:
“This very tent is an illustration for the appointed time that is now here, and in keeping with it both gifts and sacrifices are offered. However, these are not able to make the man doing sacred service perfect as respects his conscience.”
Hebrews 10:11 adds:
“Also, every priest takes his station from day to day to render public service and to offer the same sacrifices often, as these are at no time able to take sins away completely.”
Yet their continual adherence to these requirements would enable them to take advantage of the benefits that would be offered to them under a more permanent arrangement, the blood of a perfect man. It was as Paul said at Galatians 3:19,
“Why then, the Law? It was added (to the Abrahamic Covenant) to make transgressions manifest until the seed should arrive to whom the promise had been made; and it was transmitted through angels by the hand of a mediator.”
Verse 24 continues:
“Consequently the Law has become our (Israel’s) tutor leading to Christ, that we might be declared righteous due to faith.”
A PRESSING NEED FOR A SAVIOR
Israel is now under a curse because they are not able to keep all the things written in the Law. Galatians 3:10 says:
“For all those who depend upon works of law are under a curse; for it is written: “Cursed is every one that does not continue in all the things written in the scroll of the Law in order to do them.””
There is now a need for someone to release them from this curse and enable them to gain the freedom to become this royal nation spoken of at Exodus 19:5, 6. The one who would provide this release by ransom would also have to be the one who could fulfill or keep the Law perfectly. He must take the place of the Law Covenant, become the mediator of a new and better covenant. The nation then, upon accepting this new covenant, could now become a royal nation that would assist the royal seed in administering the Abrahamic Covenant to all other nations.
Release from this curse would come at the cost of a perfect human life, as Paul’s says at Hebrews 9:14:
“How much more would the blood of the Christ, who through an everlasting spirit offered himself without blemish to God, cleanse our (Israel’s) consciences from dead works that we may render sacred service to the living God?”
Paul further states in verse 15, this:
“So that is why he is a mediator of a new covenant, in order that, because a death has occurred for their (Israel’s) release by ransom from transgressions under the former covenant, the ones who have been called might receive the promise of the everlasting inheritance.”
"GENTILE" NATIONS NOT UNDER A CURSE
In chapter 9 of the book of Hebrews, Paul repeatedly makes references to the duties of the priest in the temple and compares this to what Jesus did. The priests were acting on behalf of Israel, not the entire inhabited earth of mankind. Consequently, Jesus in a parallel work would also be acting in behalf of Israel, otherwise, why the comparisons. The entire world of mankind was not under the Law Covenant, only Israel was. There is nothing in these verses that indicate that Jesus would die for sins based on Adams’ transgressions. They specifically state that Jesus’ sacrifice was for sins committed by those under the Law Covenant, the nation of Israel's sins, uniquely. Hebrews 9:15 as rendered in the New International Version Bible says:
“For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance – now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.”
Consequently, the nations of the world were not under the condemnation or curse of being, specifically Mosaic Law-breakers, as was the nation of Israel. Thus, these "nations" or "Gentiles" did not need to have their ‘consciences cleansed from acts that lead to death’ the way the nation of Israel had to be "cleansed." (Hebrews 9:14, New Internation Version Bible)
Therefore, because of this situation Paul could say at Romans 5:13 says:
“For until the Law sin was in the world but sin is not charged against anyone when there is no law.”
Again, at Romans 4:15 Paul could say:
“In reality the Law produces wrath, but where there is no law, neither is there any transgression.”
Thus, we are reminded then of this most important fact, relative to the non-Israelite community of nations, namely this: the "Gentile" nations originally, were NOT given the Mosaic Law Covenant, as we all know. Therefore in God's eyes, they were NOT to be considered "guilty of transgression" before Him, as Paul showed above. So then based upon that fact, we must ask the all-important question:
So why would these Gentile nations be in need of a sacrifice for sins they have not committed?
That would be the key question to ask ourselves.
Let's all remember, when Jesus preached ‘repent for the kingdom of heaven has drawn near;’ wasn't that message specifically directed to the nation of Israel? Why yes, it was!
For example, at Matthew 15:24, Jesus, confronted by a Phoenician woman asking for help, pointedly said to her:
“In answer he said: I was not sent forth to any but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
Yes, Jesus was only sent to the "lost sheep of the house of Israel," only them. Also, we remember, just before Jesus sent his disciples on a prescribed preaching assignment, he gave them specific instructions relative to where and to whom they were to preach to. Jesus said to them:
“Do not go off into the road of the nations [Gentiles], and do not enter into a Samaritan city, but, instead, go continually to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” – Matthew 10:5, 6
Yes, Jesus' disciples were only, only to preach to the "lost sheep of the house of Israel," the true beneficiaries of all the Sacred "Promises," Mosaic Law Covenant, and all the "glory" and "covenants" accompanied with it. -- See Romans 9:4.
THE GREEK WORD FOR "WORLD" [KOSMOS] – HOW USED BY JESUS & APOSTLES
As mentioned above, 1 John 2:2 says:
"And he [Jesus] is a propitiatory sacrifice for our sins, yet not for ours only but also for the whole world’s."
Commenting on the Greek word "world" as translated in the New World Translation, Strong's Exhaustive Concordance defines this word as being,
"an orderly arrangement."
Yes, the Greek word we translate as "world," simply means, an "orderly arrangement." It can mean any systematic arrangement of things, like for instance, the jewish system of things itself or the nation of Israel itself. In other words, it could picture the "orderly arrangement" or "world" that pictured the nation of Israel.
To prove this point, let's consider a few verses to make this point clear. First, let's consider Romans 4:13 which says:
"For it was not through law that Abraham or his seed had the promise that he should be HEIR OF A WORLD [Greek: kosmos], but it was through the righteousness by faith."
In the above instance, Paul shows that Jesus, the "seed" of God's Promise, was to become "heir of a world." Surely, Paul did not mean Jesus was to become "heir" of this wicked world of mankind, did he? Surely, it was not Jehovah's original intention to make Jesus, the "heir" of this wicked "world" of mankind, the same "world" that Satan the Devil controls completely, was it? (Luke 4:5, 6) Surely, Paul did not mean that in his words above, did he?
No but instead, we see in the above instance, Paul referred to Jesus becoming the "heir" of a spiritual "world," or spiritual arrangement, the "world" [Greek: kosmos] or systematic arrangement of Israel, that particular nation, as his reward. Think about it.
And so we can see from Romans 4:13, Paul in this instance, actually used the word ‘world’ [Greek: kosmos] in reference to nation of Israel, in connection with the promised, coming "heir" of Israel.
Again, we notice that Jesus himself, also used the word we translate today as "world," in this particular sense. For instance, at John 9:5 he stated:
“As long as I am in the world, I am the world’s light.”
Again, as we remember, Jesus' ministry was largely confined and primarily directed to the natural nation of Israel, is that not so? -- Matthew 15:24
Also, we notice at John 8:12 Jesus said:
“Therefore Jesus spoke again to them, saying: I am the light of the world. He that follows me will by no means walk in darkness, but will possess the light of life.”
Again at John 3:17 Jesus says:
“For God sent forth his Son into the world, not for him to judge the world, but for the world to be saved through him.”
Therefore, when considering the Greek word, "kosmos", and how it can be used sometimes in the Greek Text, then we can better appreciate and note that this is the exact same word (translated "world") that John writes about at 1 John 2:2. This is the exact same word that John uses to show Jesus' life became a "propitiatory" [covering] sacrifice for "ours," namely a "covering" for the "sins" of first century christians. Also, Jesus' sacrifice became a [propitiatory] "covering" for the "sins" of the "world" or Jewish system of things or nation of Israel.
Again, that verse says:
“And he is a propitiatory sacrifice for our sins, yet not for ours [first century christians] only but also for the whole world’s [or the nation of Israel].”
We note in Hebrews 9:28 something interesting. This verse speaks of Jesus’ dying once to take away the sins of many people’ (please note the word ‘many’ people, not all people). This verse is thus, referring to God’s method for releasing Israel from the ‘curse’ of not keeping the Law Covenant as a "world" or "orderly arrangement." By his shed blood, Jesus mediated a new covenant for which Israel was invited to accept and thus have a good relationship with Jehovah. In other words, it would not be necessary for Jesus to give his life again for anyone who broke the laws of the New Covenant, as punishment for this would be complete destruction. Hebrews 10:28, 29 reads:
“Any man that has disregarded the law of Moses dies without compassion, upon the testimony of two or three. Of how much more severe a punishment, do you think, will the man be counted worthy who has trampled upon the Son of God and who has esteemed as of ordinary value the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and who has outraged the spirit of undeserved kindness with contempt?”
All violators of the Christian Covenant face, the entire nation or "world" of Israel who was given such a covenant, face such a "judgment" spoken of above. A sober thought, indeed! Yes, this is the unenviable position Jehovah's Witnesses find themselves today, as violators of God's New Covenant, instituted in our modern day times, since the year of 1931. Think about it. -- Jeremiah 50:4, 5; Daniel 11:30; Ezekiel 16:59-63
ISRAEL, A FAVORED NATION
David’s words are powerful in regard to Israel’s standing with Jehovah. At 2 Samuel 7:23 we read:
“And what one nation in the earth is like your people Israel, whom God went to redeem to himself as a people and to assign himself a name and to do for them great and fear-inspiring things - to drive out because of your people, whom you have redeemed to yourself from Egypt, the nations and their gods?”
Therefore, the nation of Israel was in an unique, enviable position before ALL OTHER NATIONS of this earth. They would produce the royal "seed" for God. (Galatians 3:15) They could become a ‘royal nation’ administering the Abrahamic Covenant for the nations. (Genesis 22:16-18) They were “entrusted with the sacred pronouncements of God.” (Romans 3:2) The apostle Paul enumerated their Grand Inheritance from God at Romans 9:3-5 where he said:
“For I could wish that I myself were separated as the cursed one from the Christ in behalf of my brothers, my relatives according to the flesh, who, as such, are Israelites, to whom belong the adoption as sons and the glory and the covenants and the giving of the Law and the sacred service and the promises; to whom the forefathers belong and from whom the Christ sprang according to the flesh…”
A "REMNANT" FROM ISRAEL RESPONDS
Yes, as Paul said above, Israel was given the "glory," the "covenants," and the magnificent Mosaic "Law" of God, was it not? But, what was the response of the nation as a whole to these wonderful privileges offered to them as the natural descendants of Abraham? It is well known that this nation showed such a lack of appreciation that it was said of them as recorded at John 12:37-40, this:
“But although he had performed so many signs before them, they were not putting faith in him, so that the word of Isaiah the prophet was fulfilled which he said: “Jehovah who has put faith in the thing heard by us? And as for the arm of Jehovah, to whom has it been revealed?” The reason why they were not able to believe is that again Isaiah said: “He has blinded their eyes and he has made their hearts hard, that they should not see with their eyes and get the thought with their hearts and turn around and I should heal them.””
It had come to the point where Jehovah stated that he had ‘stopped caring for them.’ (Hebrews 8:9b) Consequently, only a remnant was saved. Romans 9:27 says of this:
“Moreover, Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: “Although the number of the sons of Israel may be as the sand of the sea, it is the remnant that will be saved.”
THE "FULL NUMBER" OF GENTILES BROUGHT IN TO COMPLETE "ISRAEL" -- Romans 11:25, 26
Jesus once uttered some very powerful words to the most-privileged nation of Israel, in saying:
“The kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a nation producing its fruit.” (Matthew 21:43)
Yes, the "kingdom of God" was to be taken away from the natural nation of Israel, for their gross lack of appreciation for all that God had done for them. And as Jesus said, that "kingdom" would be given to another "nation," that would obediently produce the "fruits" that would be pleasing to our Heavenly Father, Jehovah God. Indeed, at Acts 15:14, this newly privileged group is described in this way:
“Symeon has related thoroughly how God for the first time turned his attention to the nations to take out of them a people for his name.”
Yes, "people from the nations," Gentiles could for the first time, (by God's permission) become a "people for his name," a Grand Privilege indeed for these ones. Actually, this grand event was clearly foretold by Isaiah the prophet as recorded at Isaiah 65:1, which says:

Although never in a covenant with Jehovah, these Gentiles were shown undeserved kindness and invited to complete Israel. This would mean that they would have to accept the "good news" message that Jesus said would be preached to them, get baptized, and accept the terms of the New Covenant, which had been legally validated by Jesus’ precious blood, and always remain obedient to the things written therein. (Matthew 24:14; Matthew 28:19, 20) If these "Gentiles" were willing to meet these "terms" of the New Covenant, then they could thus be grafted into the symbolic ‘olive tree’ of Israel by God Almighty Himself. Thus, because of such an arrangement, they could now become a part of this ‘royal nation.’ However, we must keep in mind one important fact. No, they did not need, first, to repent of any previous transgression against the Mosaic Law, as they had no guilt before Jehovah, never having been brought into a covenant with him before. In other words, this was a NEW experience for these Gentile Converts. Think about it.
CONCLUSION
Jesus, upon his death, had fulfilled the Law Covenant thereby releasing Israel from the curse of condemnation to death. He had opened the way for a renewed relationship with Jehovah for them by mediating a ‘new covenant.’ He had “saved that which was lost,” Israel. (Luke 19:10) The words that the angel spoke to Joseph after his learning of Mary’s pregnancy are appropriate here. He said:
“She will give birth to a son and he will save his people (Israel) from their sin.” – Matthew 1:21

Referring to Jesus' all-important sacrificial death, John wrote,
"And he [Jesus] is a propitiatory sacrifice for our sins, yet not for ours only but also for the whole world’s."
Many people today, believe the above verse shows that Jesus actually came to this "world," to die a sacrificial death for the entire "world" of mankind. Is that what you believe, personally? More importantly, could we say this is a proper viewpoint of the inspired words of John, as shown above? Let's consider the following information to answer such thought-provoking questions.
WHY JESUS HAD TO BE BORN AN "ISRAELITE"
It is a well-accepted fact that Jesus as an Israelite was under the Mosaic Law Covenant. As he himself said at Matthew 5:17:
“Do not think I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I came, not to destroy, but to fulfill.”
This Law was an agreement or covenant between Jehovah and the nation of Israel. Why was a ‘fulfillment’ necessary? God concluded a covenant with Abraham that stated that someone from his lineage would become the means by which the nations of mankind could bless themselves. That seed or offspring would then be produced through Abraham’s sons. We all know how this lineage developed. The nation of Israel was now in a position to become a royal nation after having produced the royal "seed." (Exodus 19:5,6) But this was all contingent upon their strictly obeying Jehovah’s word, keeping his covenant with them.
But they were not obedient and so came under guilt. They became lawbreakers. Although the provision of cleansing under the Law Covenant (that is, the blood of bulls and goats) was not intended to cleanse them permanently of sin as it was only a temporary arrangement. Hebrews 9:9 reads:
“This very tent is an illustration for the appointed time that is now here, and in keeping with it both gifts and sacrifices are offered. However, these are not able to make the man doing sacred service perfect as respects his conscience.”
Hebrews 10:11 adds:
“Also, every priest takes his station from day to day to render public service and to offer the same sacrifices often, as these are at no time able to take sins away completely.”
Yet their continual adherence to these requirements would enable them to take advantage of the benefits that would be offered to them under a more permanent arrangement, the blood of a perfect man. It was as Paul said at Galatians 3:19,
“Why then, the Law? It was added (to the Abrahamic Covenant) to make transgressions manifest until the seed should arrive to whom the promise had been made; and it was transmitted through angels by the hand of a mediator.”
Verse 24 continues:
“Consequently the Law has become our (Israel’s) tutor leading to Christ, that we might be declared righteous due to faith.”
A PRESSING NEED FOR A SAVIOR
Israel is now under a curse because they are not able to keep all the things written in the Law. Galatians 3:10 says:
“For all those who depend upon works of law are under a curse; for it is written: “Cursed is every one that does not continue in all the things written in the scroll of the Law in order to do them.””
There is now a need for someone to release them from this curse and enable them to gain the freedom to become this royal nation spoken of at Exodus 19:5, 6. The one who would provide this release by ransom would also have to be the one who could fulfill or keep the Law perfectly. He must take the place of the Law Covenant, become the mediator of a new and better covenant. The nation then, upon accepting this new covenant, could now become a royal nation that would assist the royal seed in administering the Abrahamic Covenant to all other nations.
Release from this curse would come at the cost of a perfect human life, as Paul’s says at Hebrews 9:14:
“How much more would the blood of the Christ, who through an everlasting spirit offered himself without blemish to God, cleanse our (Israel’s) consciences from dead works that we may render sacred service to the living God?”
Paul further states in verse 15, this:
“So that is why he is a mediator of a new covenant, in order that, because a death has occurred for their (Israel’s) release by ransom from transgressions under the former covenant, the ones who have been called might receive the promise of the everlasting inheritance.”
"GENTILE" NATIONS NOT UNDER A CURSE
In chapter 9 of the book of Hebrews, Paul repeatedly makes references to the duties of the priest in the temple and compares this to what Jesus did. The priests were acting on behalf of Israel, not the entire inhabited earth of mankind. Consequently, Jesus in a parallel work would also be acting in behalf of Israel, otherwise, why the comparisons. The entire world of mankind was not under the Law Covenant, only Israel was. There is nothing in these verses that indicate that Jesus would die for sins based on Adams’ transgressions. They specifically state that Jesus’ sacrifice was for sins committed by those under the Law Covenant, the nation of Israel's sins, uniquely. Hebrews 9:15 as rendered in the New International Version Bible says:
“For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance – now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.”
Consequently, the nations of the world were not under the condemnation or curse of being, specifically Mosaic Law-breakers, as was the nation of Israel. Thus, these "nations" or "Gentiles" did not need to have their ‘consciences cleansed from acts that lead to death’ the way the nation of Israel had to be "cleansed." (Hebrews 9:14, New Internation Version Bible)
Therefore, because of this situation Paul could say at Romans 5:13 says:
“For until the Law sin was in the world but sin is not charged against anyone when there is no law.”
Again, at Romans 4:15 Paul could say:
“In reality the Law produces wrath, but where there is no law, neither is there any transgression.”
Thus, we are reminded then of this most important fact, relative to the non-Israelite community of nations, namely this: the "Gentile" nations originally, were NOT given the Mosaic Law Covenant, as we all know. Therefore in God's eyes, they were NOT to be considered "guilty of transgression" before Him, as Paul showed above. So then based upon that fact, we must ask the all-important question:
So why would these Gentile nations be in need of a sacrifice for sins they have not committed?
That would be the key question to ask ourselves.
Let's all remember, when Jesus preached ‘repent for the kingdom of heaven has drawn near;’ wasn't that message specifically directed to the nation of Israel? Why yes, it was!
For example, at Matthew 15:24, Jesus, confronted by a Phoenician woman asking for help, pointedly said to her:
“In answer he said: I was not sent forth to any but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
Yes, Jesus was only sent to the "lost sheep of the house of Israel," only them. Also, we remember, just before Jesus sent his disciples on a prescribed preaching assignment, he gave them specific instructions relative to where and to whom they were to preach to. Jesus said to them:
“Do not go off into the road of the nations [Gentiles], and do not enter into a Samaritan city, but, instead, go continually to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” – Matthew 10:5, 6
Yes, Jesus' disciples were only, only to preach to the "lost sheep of the house of Israel," the true beneficiaries of all the Sacred "Promises," Mosaic Law Covenant, and all the "glory" and "covenants" accompanied with it. -- See Romans 9:4.
THE GREEK WORD FOR "WORLD" [KOSMOS] – HOW USED BY JESUS & APOSTLES
As mentioned above, 1 John 2:2 says:
"And he [Jesus] is a propitiatory sacrifice for our sins, yet not for ours only but also for the whole world’s."
Commenting on the Greek word "world" as translated in the New World Translation, Strong's Exhaustive Concordance defines this word as being,
"an orderly arrangement."
Yes, the Greek word we translate as "world," simply means, an "orderly arrangement." It can mean any systematic arrangement of things, like for instance, the jewish system of things itself or the nation of Israel itself. In other words, it could picture the "orderly arrangement" or "world" that pictured the nation of Israel.
To prove this point, let's consider a few verses to make this point clear. First, let's consider Romans 4:13 which says:
"For it was not through law that Abraham or his seed had the promise that he should be HEIR OF A WORLD [Greek: kosmos], but it was through the righteousness by faith."
In the above instance, Paul shows that Jesus, the "seed" of God's Promise, was to become "heir of a world." Surely, Paul did not mean Jesus was to become "heir" of this wicked world of mankind, did he? Surely, it was not Jehovah's original intention to make Jesus, the "heir" of this wicked "world" of mankind, the same "world" that Satan the Devil controls completely, was it? (Luke 4:5, 6) Surely, Paul did not mean that in his words above, did he?
No but instead, we see in the above instance, Paul referred to Jesus becoming the "heir" of a spiritual "world," or spiritual arrangement, the "world" [Greek: kosmos] or systematic arrangement of Israel, that particular nation, as his reward. Think about it.
And so we can see from Romans 4:13, Paul in this instance, actually used the word ‘world’ [Greek: kosmos] in reference to nation of Israel, in connection with the promised, coming "heir" of Israel.
Again, we notice that Jesus himself, also used the word we translate today as "world," in this particular sense. For instance, at John 9:5 he stated:
“As long as I am in the world, I am the world’s light.”
Again, as we remember, Jesus' ministry was largely confined and primarily directed to the natural nation of Israel, is that not so? -- Matthew 15:24
Also, we notice at John 8:12 Jesus said:
“Therefore Jesus spoke again to them, saying: I am the light of the world. He that follows me will by no means walk in darkness, but will possess the light of life.”
Again at John 3:17 Jesus says:
“For God sent forth his Son into the world, not for him to judge the world, but for the world to be saved through him.”
Therefore, when considering the Greek word, "kosmos", and how it can be used sometimes in the Greek Text, then we can better appreciate and note that this is the exact same word (translated "world") that John writes about at 1 John 2:2. This is the exact same word that John uses to show Jesus' life became a "propitiatory" [covering] sacrifice for "ours," namely a "covering" for the "sins" of first century christians. Also, Jesus' sacrifice became a [propitiatory] "covering" for the "sins" of the "world" or Jewish system of things or nation of Israel.
Again, that verse says:
“And he is a propitiatory sacrifice for our sins, yet not for ours [first century christians] only but also for the whole world’s [or the nation of Israel].”
We note in Hebrews 9:28 something interesting. This verse speaks of Jesus’ dying once to take away the sins of many people’ (please note the word ‘many’ people, not all people). This verse is thus, referring to God’s method for releasing Israel from the ‘curse’ of not keeping the Law Covenant as a "world" or "orderly arrangement." By his shed blood, Jesus mediated a new covenant for which Israel was invited to accept and thus have a good relationship with Jehovah. In other words, it would not be necessary for Jesus to give his life again for anyone who broke the laws of the New Covenant, as punishment for this would be complete destruction. Hebrews 10:28, 29 reads:
“Any man that has disregarded the law of Moses dies without compassion, upon the testimony of two or three. Of how much more severe a punishment, do you think, will the man be counted worthy who has trampled upon the Son of God and who has esteemed as of ordinary value the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and who has outraged the spirit of undeserved kindness with contempt?”
All violators of the Christian Covenant face, the entire nation or "world" of Israel who was given such a covenant, face such a "judgment" spoken of above. A sober thought, indeed! Yes, this is the unenviable position Jehovah's Witnesses find themselves today, as violators of God's New Covenant, instituted in our modern day times, since the year of 1931.
