Basic Truth #22 - Billions Of Uninformed To Be Resurrected

The Bible tells us that there is going to be a resurrection of the dead. So here, we will discuss who will be resurrected, according to the Bible.

At Acts 24:15 we read, "I have a hope in God - a hope that they themselves also accept - that there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous." The New Revised Standard Version

So, the righteous could include many of those we read about in the Bible who had a relationship with Jehovah, demonstrating faith and obedience. For example, those mentioned in Hebrews Chapter 11, would include Abel, Seth, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Issac, Jacob, Sarah, Joseph, Moses, Rahab, Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel and the prophets. These ones were mentioned as those that were commended for their faith, but yet, did not receive what was promised.

The unrighteous mentioned in the above verse would include those who did not know Jehovah as well as those who were part of the Nation of Israel who did not accept Jesus. These will be resurrected and given a chance to learn about Jehovah for the first time, or for the Israelites, without hindrance from the Pharisees who took the key of knowledge away from the people. Jesus indicated that those Pharisees were reserved for Gehenna, from which there is no return. See Matthew 12:31,32.

Please take a look at Revelation 20:13,14, which says: "And the sea gave up the dead that were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and all were judged according to what they had done. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire." The New Revised Standard Version

The unrighteous ones would not be resurrected simply to be judged according to what they did in their former lives, but they would be judged by what they decide to do after learning about Jehovah. This is referring to what they do with their lives after given a chance to learn righteousness and bring their lives into harmony with God's Kingdom, and keep in mind that they will have much better circumstances to deal with since conditions on the earth will be optimal for learning. One reason for this is that Satan will be out of the way, and "abyssed". See Revelation 20:1-3.

So, the righteous and the unrighteous have the wonderful hope of living here in an earthly paradise and enjoying unending life...all they have to do is subject themselves to Jehovah's laws. This is truly a wonderful prospect for all concerned.
